Josh Zacher is an NYC based dancer, actor, teacher, and choreographer.  A proud native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Josh holds a BFA in Drama (with Honors) from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and is a graduate of both the Broadway Dance Center Summer Professional Semester and the University of Michigan Summer Dance Institute. 

As a performer, Josh served as the Dance Captain on The Prom 1st national tour. Josh also played Larry in the national/international tour of A Chorus Line (under the direction of Tony Award Winner Baayork Lee), which included a sold out run in Tokyo and was in the world premiere cast of the musical version of the beloved children’s book The Elf on the Shelf. Josh has performed at The Kennedy Center, The Lyric Opera of Chicago (West Side Story), Center Theatre Group (LA), North Shore Music Theatre (The Music Man, Young Frankenstein), Seattle’s 5th Avenue Theatre (Disney’s The Little Mermaid), The Ordway (West Side Story), Kansas City Starlight, The REV Theatre Co. (Footloose), Theatre By The Sea (Newsies, The Wizard of Oz), The Sharon Playhouse (Les Miserables, The Little Mermaid) Westchester Broadway (Newsies), and The Wagon Wheel Center for the Performing Arts. 

As a creative, Josh has worked at The MUNY, Tuacahn, Seattle’s 5th Avenue, Kansas City Starlight, The Ordway, La Mirada, The George and Inside Broadway. Some of his most recent collaborators include Richard J. Hinds, John MacInnis, Sara Edwards, Glenn Casale, Robbie Roby, Michael Heitzman, Marcia Milgrom Dodge, Rachel Klein, and Chase Brock. Some recent shows include La Cage Aux Folles, The Wizard of Oz, Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Esther (World Premiere), and Big Famous (Lab – Choreographer). Josh is also the founder and creator of Stage the Number, a professional style rehearsal workshop and a founding member of The New York Theatre Company. 

On camera, Josh can be seen on the NBC series Rise as well as MTV’s TRL, Live! With Regis and Kelly, and Dance Moms. Josh is a teaching artist for New York City Center, a dance coach for MTCA: Musical Theatre College Auditions, and a teaching/audition assistant at Ballet Tech: The New York City Public School for Dance in Manhattan.
