Karla Puno Garcia is a EMMY AWARD WINNING CHOREOGRAPHER and the first Filipina and woman of color to choreograph the Tony Awards (76th Annual).

She co-choreographed Days of Wine and Roses on Broadway and at the Atlantic Theater, The Connector at MCC, and tICK, tICK… Boom! In Tokyo. Featured credits also include the Starz Network series Power Book III: Raising Kanaan; additional scenes in the Netflix film Tick, Tick … BOOM!, directed by Lin Manuel Miranda; ENCORES Off-Center production of Gone Missing; Somewhere at the Geva Theatre, the new Duncan Sheik musical Noir at the Alley Theatre; Other World at Delaware Theatre Company; Senior Class at the Olney Theatre; and In the Heights at Virginia Rep (Artsie for Best Choreography).

A graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, Karla has worked with Kyle Abraham, Bridget Moore, and Dwight Rhoden. Karla was a swing in Hamilton (Broadway) for six years. She was seen in West Side Story (Broadway); Gigi (Broadway); Hot Feet (Broadway); Wicked (National Tour), Addams Family (National Tour); SMASH Season 2, SYTYCD Season 5; Better Nate Than Ever; Annie Live!, and more.

Class Description
Karla’s class explores individuality through musicality, rhythm, dynamics, performance, and groove. With a foundation in jazz technique, class combo choreography has hip hop, contemporary, and funk influences … all to the sounds of music ranging from Bill Withers to Janet Jackson.
