Jazz Class Description:

Lisa Harvie is a versatile jazz teacher and choreographer. Her contemporary interpretation of jazz as a hybrid art form, pays close attention to the technique and style that set it apart from other disciplines. Her background in ballet, tap, highland and musical theater cross over choreographically and her warm-up is built on a solid technical dance foundation that also incorporates the benefits of yoga. In maintaining a connection to the fundamental roots of jazz dance, there is a strong focus on musicality and movement specificity — emphasizing physical initiation and dynamic execution. Her classes offer an athletic outlet within a supportive and welcoming environment and will challenge a dancer’s endurance and elevate performance.
