Renell Taylor, a New Orleans native, is thrilled to be making his STEPS debut! 

After graduating from Elon University in 2023, where Renell received his BFA in Music Theatre, he immediately hit the ground running. He made his Broadway debut in A Wonderful World: The Louis Armstrong Musical, as Banjo Ben/Lincoln Perry u/s, after also being a member of the pre-Broadway tryout! Renell was also in the New York Times Critics’ Pick production of Jelly’s Last Jam at New York City Center (Ensemble/Young Jelly u/s) and in Bye Bye Birdie at the Kennedy Center. Regional: Sacramento Music Circus, Pittsburgh CLO, Bucks County Playhouse, The Lexington Theatre Company, Forestburgh Playhouse, Tulane Summer Lyric, Tent Theatre, and the National World War II Museum. 

In addition to performing, Renell is incredibly passionate about teaching and choreography. He has taught at multiple studios/performing arts schools around the US and has served as an associate/assistant choreographer at many theaters, including the Lexington Theatre Company and Forestburgh Playhouse. And let’s not forget his viral TikTok dance to “Stepsister’s Lament,” which has over 2.5 million views and was performed by Immi Faith, Scott Hoying, Kaycee Stroh, Alex Wong, Derek Hough, etc.
